Terms of Service
These terms explain what ROAM does, what it doesn't do, and what we expect from you. By using ROAM, you agree to them. We kept them short and in plain English.
1. What ROAM is
ROAM helps groups of friends plan trips together. You start a trip, share its invite link with your friends, and ROAM collects everyone's plans by group text or on the web. For private jet trips, ROAM shares charter quotes from our charter partner with your group, shows each person's share of the price, and tracks who's in. For airline trips, ROAM searches flights from each person's airport and gives each person a way to book their own seat.
2. Private jet charters
- ROAM is not an air carrier, charter operator or charter broker. Private jet trips are arranged by our charter broker partner, and flights are operated by FAA Part 135 certified operators. The operator has full control of the flight (operational control).
- Your group charters the whole aircraft and decides how to split the cost among yourselves. ROAM does not sell individual seats.
- Quotes shown in ROAM are estimates from the operator, depend on availability, and can change or expire until our charter partner confirms them in a written charter agreement.
- Empty-leg flights are repositioning flights. They can be rescheduled or cancelled by the operator, sometimes at short notice, if the jet's main trip changes.
- Replying IN shows your interest and isn't a purchase. Payment, cancellation and refund terms are set by our charter partner in its agreement with your group, and you'll see them before anyone pays. ROAM doesn't collect payment for charters.
- ROAM may earn a referral fee from our charter partner when a trip books. This doesn't change your price.
3. What ROAM is not
ROAM is a coordination and search tool. Specifically:
- We are not an airline, and we don't operate flights or issue tickets.
- Flights are booked through third-party providers (such as Duffel) and fulfilled by the airline. Your ticket is a contract between you and the airline.
- Airlines control ticket prices, availability, schedules, baggage rules, changes, cancellations and refunds. Prices can change until your booking is confirmed.
- ROAM's suggestions and its AI assistant's messages are help, not guarantees or professional travel advice.
4. Who can use ROAM
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book a flight. You can only use ROAM in places where doing so is legal.
5. Your account and your phone number
You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep your phone secure, since anyone with it can sign in as you. You're responsible for activity on your account.
6. SMS Terms
- When you start a trip, or join one from its invite link, and check the consent box, you agree to receive automated trip text messages from ROAM at the number you entered, from (774) 458-9284. These include jet quotes, group updates, questions about airports and dates, flight options, votes and booking notices.
- Everyone opts in for themselves. Only share your trip's invite link with people you're planning the trip with, and never sign anyone else up for texts.
- Message frequency varies with how active your trip is. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to stop getting texts from ROAM, and HELP for help. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Agreeing to get texts isn't a condition of buying anything.
7. Your information and passenger details
You're responsible for the information you give us. When you book, the traveler's name must match their passport or government ID exactly, and their date of birth, email and phone must be correct. Airlines may refuse boarding or charge fees for mistakes, and we can't fix airline decisions. Only enter someone else's details if they've asked you to book for them.
8. Bookings and payments
- When you book, your card is charged for the airline ticket through our booking provider. ROAM never sees or stores your full card number.
- The airline's fare rules (changes, cancellations, refunds, baggage) apply to your ticket. For changes or refunds after booking, contact the airline using your confirmation code.
- ROAM is free during beta. We may add a small fee per booking in the future. If we do, we'll show it clearly before you pay, and it will never be added to a booking you've already made.
9. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Sign anyone else up for trip texts, or use ROAM to spam or harass anyone.
- Give false information, impersonate someone, or book with someone else's card without permission.
- Try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer ROAM, or get around its security.
- Use ROAM for anything illegal.
We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
10. Beta service, provided “as is”
ROAM is in beta. We're building fast, so features may change, break or disappear, and flight results may be incomplete or out of date. ROAM is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, ROAM is not responsible for flight changes, cancellations, delays, missed connections, denied boarding, lost baggage, price changes, or airline and provider policies. We're also not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as hotel or event costs tied to a flight.
If we are found liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid ROAM in the last 12 months or $50. Nothing here limits rights you have under law that can't be waived.
12. Ending things
You can stop using ROAM at any time and ask us to delete your account (see our Privacy Policy). Flights you've already booked stay booked with the airline.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as ROAM grows. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll let you know by text or in the app. If you keep using ROAM after a change, you accept the new terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
